The Island of the Goddess Ixchel

Off the coast of Cancun is Isla Mujeres. It is now a vacation hotspot nowadays but in the past, it served more higher purpose other than a quick retreat. Ancient Mayan used to treat the place sacred. For thousand of years, it was a sanctuary for one their goddess named Ixchel. On tip of the island lies a small ruins which was the temple for serving the goddess.
